Thursday 1st April 2021

Please Note that our Zoom call today is at 9:30

This will be our final day of learning before we break for Easter.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for working so hard and to wish you a very happy and holy Easter.

LITERACY/RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Today we will visit our final station of the Easter Story, The Crucifixion where Jesus selflessly gave his life for each and every one of us.
Please watch the story and discuss the main events with someone at home.

Jesus is now living in heaven along with many of our loved ones. Can you cut out a cross shape and write a beautiful prayer for either someone you know or people who have joined ‘Our Father’ in heaven?

Class 2 will be joining Fr Desmond by the Cross at the side of church at 11am for a special Easter service to share our prayers and reflect upon the importance of this special time of year. At 11am it would be lovely if you too found a special place at home or in your garden to share your prayers.

LITERACY/ RE

Today we are going to be learning about the story of ‘The Last Supper’ where Jesus shared a very special meal with his disciples. Click on the link below to watch a short video.

I would now like you to pretend you are one of Jesus’ disciples present during The Last Supper.

There is a worksheet provided to complete, alternatively you can create your own. Fill in the thought bubbles by using what you know about the story to show you understand what they would be thinking.

e.g...

‘I wonder what Jesus is talking about, I’m so confused’

‘Why is Jesus talking about his blood and body?’

‘Is it me who will betray Jesus?’

You can be as creative as you like and use paint, felt tips or even make a collage. Then write a selection of key words to describe how you could follow in Jesus’ footsteps and serve others.

LITERACY

Watch the BUBBLES video again by following this link...

Can you complete the story?

Use ideas from yesterday on somewhere you could go in your magical bubble.

Last Saturday I went to the beach with my family. We had so much fun playing in the sand, building castles and jumping over waves. After lunch I decided to go for a walk. I suddenly stopped. In front of me was a sparkling pot of bubbles. I quickly picked it up and blew a bubble. It was huge. I jumped onto the bubble and it began to rise into the sky....

To finish the story try to answer the following questions.

Where did the bubble take you?

What did you do there?

How did you get back to the beach?

Think carefully about your sentences and remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
