Class 1 Finalists at the Roscars - 30th June 2016

Congratulations!! to class 1 for coming 'Runners up' for their fantastic film 'The planet that time forgot'. The children celebrated their wonderful achievement at a glitz and glam evening at the Roscars. Here they met lots of their favourite cartoon and film characters before receiving their certificate from the celebrity Mark Le Beck (aka The Beast!) from the tv quiz show.

The six children who attended the glitz and glamour event at Magna on Thursday evening were a true representation of what St. Gerard’s children should be - Well done to you all!!

Thornbridge Residential March 2016

Our St. Gerard’s children have once again shown what super stars they are and are a real credit to their parents/carers.  The staff and instructors at Thornbridge commented on our children’s exceptional behaviour and how they have all showed resilience and took part, even when some of the activities were at first a little daunting.

Well done Year 5 and 6, you faced and conquered all challanges (and for some, fears) with enthusiasm, determination and pride. Take a look at some of the photographs that show how all children participated with the fun and exciting activities that were on offer.

Children from Key Stage 1 had a great time taking part in an athletics programme with pupils from St. Mary's Catholic Primary School. The event was organised by staff at St. Bernard's Catholic High School. The children took part in many events including running and javelin. They had a fantastic time and were full of enthusiasm throughout. Take a look at some of the pictures to see how well they did.

Something to Celebrate

At St. Gerard’s School we are committed to ensuring that all our children achieve and strive to be the best that they can be. In December 2015 the Department for Education produced the 2015 Key stage 2 SAT’s league tables.  The figures are based on the percentage of pupils achieving a level four or above in Reading, Writing and Maths.  I am delighted to share with you all that St. Gerard’s School was ranked 2nd in the whole of theRotherham local authority.  This is a huge achievement to be second out of 125 schools.  Well done to the children who achieved these results and thank you to the great team here at St. Gerard’s who guide, support and teach all our children.  With the support of all our families, they really do enable all our children to reach their full potential.

St. Gerard's Art Gallery

As the Summer term closes St. Gerard's celebrated this term's class topics with a whole school Art Gallery. Each class had it's own area within the school hall where they displayed children's 2D and 3D artwork aswell as audio and video footage of children performing creatively.

The work displayed was absolutely amazing and we are so proud of our children's achievements in their creative abilities.

Our Art Gallery was open to the public where children from each class acted as curators to explain what learning had been taking place and how the art was created and what a fantastic job they did!!

Take a look at the photographs of some of the outstanding work that our children shared with parents, grandparents and other family members as well as our local community.
